Paloma Faith
This is who I have chosen as my New Elizabethan. I think she is perfect for what I am looking for.
This photo especially represents what I love about her. This image shouts Elizabethan all over!
The colour of her hair, texture, the heart shaped hair, and the hard line where the plait lies at the front of her forehead.
The colour represents the era very well. In all of Queen Elizabeth's portraits, she has a red/gold hair tone which everyone looked up to. People of the era were envious of her beautiful hair colour.
Paloma also has a very fair skin tone - which Queen Elizabeth I also had. This represents her wealth but in Paloma's situation it is due to having such sensitive skin; she easily comes out with skin rashes.
Paloma Faith has beautiful facial features. Her bone structure is gorgeous, especially her cheekbones. The makeup used in this particular image really brings out the definition of her cheeks. She is always so elegant looking, with her vintage style.
'The Tudor period was an extravagant period, and vanity was perhaps a prime ingredient. '

I think Paloma herself also believes in that quote as she is always looking her best but it is never to impress. She likes to think of herself as an individual and has her own unique style. Many people, or fans would love to be her and look like her. This is also very similar to those in relation of Queen Elizabeth I.

Paloma is a very strong minded woman, and does not mind having her opinions heard by others. She personally thinks this is an endearing trait to have in which I also agree with. It shows she is strong, and does not mind what others think of her and her personal opinions. This shouts confidence and power. She says herself 'We're all the same despite our outward differences' which I think is a great way to look at things. I think this because no one is treated differently just because they are different in one way or another - everyone is beautiful no matter what they look like or their opinions of certain matters.

It has also come to my attention, the more I research Paloma Faith, the more I have noticed that she loves to wear adornments in her hair. This picture to the right screams out Elizabethan and contemporary to me. The frizzy texture of her hair up do is very Elizabethan yet the hair adornment makes it very contemporary; the bright colours and sparkles throughout.
"If I go out with no make-up and a tracksuit on, nobody comes up to me. And if they do, I won't do a photo because I wouldn't want any photographic evidence.” - As much as she is a powerful woman, the outer beauty is of a great importance to her, just as it was for Queen Elizabeth I. She is an icon in her own way, and without her face made up, she does not want to be approached or judged as she feels very uncomfortable without it. This is like a armour for her.
